Music Blog Romania

Romanian artists

22.Feb

We will start a new category on musicblog.ro about Romanian artists. Every now and then I will try to share with you some good music made by Romanian bands. Sometimes, the songs will be in Romanian but I hope the foreign audience of the blog will enjoy them anyhow :)

To start with, let’s listen to Antarctica and their recent single, called “Pase Magice“. The 2009 formed duo (Delia Opran and Ciprian Lemnaru) have already released an album, called Explorers and actually most of their songs are in English. Some of you might know them for playing as an opening band for Morcheeba.

Enjoy Antarctica – Pase Magice below!

On’n'on

20.Feb

Justice, a french band playing electronic music, recently released On’n'on. The song is quite good and it has a rock feeling. Actually, the sound reminds me of Led Zeppelin and I am pretty sure this was one of their inspirations.

Check it out below.

Band of Skulls

16.Feb

The British trio from Band of Skulls recently will release in a few days their new album, called Sweet Sour. The leading song of the album sounds really good, with vocals making and interesting contrast with the sharp guitar sound. You can listen it below and you can preorder the album on itunes here.

P.S. The song also has an official video, but I really don’t like it – therefore, I preferred not to share it…

Where did Oasis go

15.Feb

I was talking to a friend a while ago about what happened with Oasis following their huge success in the 90s. Well, basically, the two brothers – Noel and Liam Gallagher – had numerous fights and eventually Oasis broke up in 2009. Noel Gallagher went by himself and formed the High Flying Birds band. Liam and the other members of Oasis formed Beady Eye. Both bands released albums in 2011, with High Flying Birds having a significantly better reception with the public and the critics.

You can listen below to High Flying Birds – The Death of You and Me and Beady Eye – Four Letter Word.

In anticipation of their album to be launched this month, The Ting Tings released a new single, called Soul Killing. It sounds very good, a pop-rock sound with a reggae twist. You can listen to it below.

On the same album, Sounds of Nowheresville, you will be able to find Silence and Hang It Up.

Red Hot Chili Peppers launch interactive video

08.Feb

Really nice! RHCP launched an interactive video for their “Look Around” song. The video alows you to do just that – look around various rooms and see the band members playing the song. Additionally, you can click on certain objects and interupt the video for seeing behind the scenes images and more.

Imik Si Mik

07.Feb

I’ve heard this song first time on last year’s snowboard trip and I liked it ever since. Hindi Zahra – Imik Si Mik.

The title of the song translates as “little by little”.

Electric Brother feat Lizzy Parks – Tommorow

04.Feb

Electric Brother is one of the top rated Nu-Jazz / Chill-Out artists in Romania. Since more than 10 years he had numerous collaborations with various artists and has recently released his second solo album, called Pe Pamant.

Even though his solo tracks are not very well promoted, the album is definetely worth buying (from electricbrother.ro). And to get a feeling of it, here is Tommorow.
